I love aged metal... the patina, nicks and digs the pieces acquire over time. That was my inspiration behind this piece.

Each piece is cut out by hand from my original sketch from heavy gauge copper sheet. i employed several different texture methods to create the aged look. Several layers of patina are added and then selectively removed to highlight the different textures in the piece, lastly i came back in and "scuffed" off the patina in patches to reveal the shiny copper underneath to catch the light. A clear sealer is applied to protect the finish.

Each piece is a one of a kind as adding the texture is an organic process and is unique to each piece.
